Colgate To Cut 6% of Jobs

Restructing program hits almost 2,300 employees.

Colgate-Palmolive Co. (CL) will cut its global workforce by 6%, or about 2,300 jobs, in a four-year restructuring program aimed at cutting costs amid slowing economies, according to reports. The company currently has 38,600 employees. The plan will result in charges of $1.1 billion by 2016. CEO Ian Cook is working to boost profit by reducing structural costs, improving the supply chain and increasing the use of global data and analytic capabilities, said reports....
